Getting Started
Beginning therapy can feel like a significant step — whether you are returning to therapy after time away or seeking support for the first time. This page outlines what to expect from the initial consultation through ongoing treatment.
Initial Contact
The first step is a brief phone consultation to determine fit and discuss scheduling. During this call, we review your primary concerns, availability, insurance coverage, and next steps.
You may request a consultation by emailing insightpsychinfo@gmail.com or by using the “Request a Consultation” button.
Scheduling and Intake
After scheduling your first appointment, you will receive secure electronic intake forms through the patient portal. These include consent forms, practice policies, and background information to support our initial session.
Sessions are conducted via secure telehealth for clients located in New York and New Jersey.
The First Session
The initial session focuses on understanding your current concerns, relevant history, and goals for treatment. We discuss patterns that may be contributing to distress and begin developing a structured treatment plan.
This session also allows you to determine whether the therapeutic approach feels aligned with your needs.
Fees and Insurance
Dr. Mallory Sapoff is in-network with Aetna Commercial plans in New York and New Jersey. For Aetna clients, sessions are billed directly according to in-network mental health benefits. Copays, coinsurance, or deductibles may apply.
Standard session fees reflect private pay (out-of-network) rates. For clients using out-of-network benefits, superbills can be provided or claims may be submitted on your behalf.
Ongoing Treatment
Therapy is collaborative and structured. Frequency of sessions is typically weekly at the outset and may be adjusted over time based on clinical needs and progress.
The goal of treatment is not only symptom reduction, but increased clarity, stability, and meaningful change.
