Getting Started

Beginning therapy can feel like a significant step — whether you are returning after time away or seeking support for the first time. Below is an overview of what to expect from initial scheduling through ongoing treatment.

Scheduling

Appointments may be scheduled directly through the online booking portal, where you can view current availability and select a time that works for you.

If you would prefer to briefly connect before scheduling, you may use the Contact the Practice option below. Brief phone consultations may also be requested to review availability, insurance coverage, and any initial questions about the process.

Intake Process

After scheduling your first appointment, you will receive secure electronic intake forms through the client portal. These include consent forms, practice policies, and background information to support our initial session.

Completing the forms in advance allows us to begin our work in a focused and efficient way.

The First Session

The initial session focuses on understanding your current concerns, relevant history, and goals for treatment. We explore patterns that may be contributing to distress and begin developing a structured treatment plan.

This session also provides an opportunity to determine whether the therapeutic approach feels aligned with your needs.

Fees and Insurance

Dr. Mallory Sapoff is in-network with Aetna Commercial plans in New York and New Jersey. For Aetna clients, sessions are billed directly according to in-network mental health benefits. Copays, coinsurance, or deductibles may apply based on your specific policy.

Standard session fees reflect private pay (out-of-network) rates. For clients utilizing out-of-network benefits, a detailed superbill can be provided for reimbursement, or claims may be submitted on your behalf when appropriate.
